By making a deep connection to the present moment and understanding our mind through the practice of meditation, we learn to make friends with ourselves…

This course IS the meditator’s instruction manual. Explore the tools needed to help establish a meditation practice and strengthen the mind.

Experience what happens when we stop avoiding ourselves and the present moment and practice simply being with whatever is going on in our lives. Through meditation we will cultivate courage and stability to help us in the daily complexities of jobs, responsibilities, relationships, and everyday desires, concerns and uncertainties we all face.

This is the 1st class in The Way of Shambhala curriculum. It offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of creating enlightened society through mindfulness-awareness meditation. The stability and wisdom cultivated through this practice can expand to benefit the world around us.

Prerequisite: None this class is open to all!!

About the Way of Shambhala:

The Way of Shambhala is composed of Shambhala Weekend Retreats Levels I-V, each followed by a five-week course that expands upon what was offered in the weekend and brings the practice of meditation into everyday life.

Over the course of a year, the Way of Shambhala introduces the entire Shambhala path. This series offers a glimpse of the Shambhala vision of enlightened society by emphasizing the ways in which meditation can impact our daily lives, and from there, how the sanity of meditation can expand to impact our community and our whole society.
