“Our life is an endless journey… The practice of meditation provides a vehicle to travel on that road.” – Chögyam Trungpa

Meditation practice and instruction play a central role in Shambhala. Originating from Shakyamuni Buddha, this 2,600 year-old practice of self-discovery is rooted in the simple, but revolutionary premise that every human being has the ability to cultivate the mind's inherent stability, clarity and strength in order to be more awake and compassionate in everyday life.

In this introductory class you will receive the technique, guidance and experience necessary to start a mindfulness-awareness or “peaceful abiding” meditation practice. Your teacher will give you detailed meditation instruction followed by practice and discussion.

This program is ideal for beginners or students wanting to refresh their meditation technique.

This class refers to the book Turning the Mind into an Ally by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Copies of the book can be purchased at the center.
